Tagged!

I have been tagged!!! Twice now actually, so I'm finally going to respond! I am supposed to tell you six "unknown" facts about myself. Hopefully I will list creative enough things that everyone will learn at least one thing!!!

1-EYEBROWS I have skinny eyebrows. You've noticed? This is not an unknown fact, you say? Well, let me tell you how it happened! Back in my early college years, I yearned for the perfect eyebrow shape! So, I got busy plucking! Well...I never got the shape right, and my eyebrows have never grown back. Clint has an limitless supply of jokes about them, and I've even had a 3rd grade student say, "You have skinny eyebrows!!!!!" Thank you. :)

2-DANCING I started taking dance lessons when I was 3 and I continued until I got married. I have done tap, jazz, ballet, clogging, Irish, and Folk Dance. I was on the International Folk Dance Team at BYU. We performed at 60-plus elementary schools in one month. It was sooooo fun and sooooo tiring. I miss it! Lucas makes great use out of my tap and clogging shoes.

3-NISSAN In college, I drove an '88 Nissan Sentra. It took me on many good trips, and I learned a lot about cars in the 5 years that I drove it. I changed my oil and replaced my starter, alternator, and front axles (I had a little help with that :) ). I also learned how to push start a car! My roommate Sarah and I would take turns pushing and popping the clutch when we needed to go somewhere! Near the end of its time, it got a hole in the muffler, so it was very loud and the back seat got REALLY hot. It also started to lose big paint chips, which I salvaged when possible by gluing them back on with superglue! Good memories.

4-GAMES and DESSERT These are two things that I can never get tired of! I could eat dessert after every meal! We don't play games very much anymore, but once I get started, it's hard for me to stop! I'm lucky to have lots of good game players among my family and friends.

5-TOADS I taught for 3 years. I taught 4th and 3rd grades. My theme for my class each year was Mrs. Salo's Happy Hoppers-Hop To It! EVERYTHING was frogs in my room...homework folders, borders, bulletin boards, job charts, attendance magnets, prizes, etc. My first year we had fire-bellied toads as class pets. Talk about a lot of work! Clint and I had to go buy crickets every 2-3 days and go in over the weekends to feed the toads! We bought our crickets from Jay's Jungle. We often purchased our crickets from Jay himself. We still have a great time joking about him. Poor guy...he was possibly the most boring, monotone person we've ever met. My students really liked the toads. Anyway, I gave them away at the end of the year. TOO MUCH WORK!

6-SWIMMING I have been lap swimming the past couple of months for exercise. It is AWESOME! It is such a great workout and really fun! I am now able to swim a 1/4 mile ALL freestyle! I used to barely be able to swim 1 lap freestyle. Here is our "swim team:"

Me, Sharlene, Alison, Danielle, Kim

Sharlene, Tonya, Me

This is the first time we've all made it at the same time. We usually go in smaller groups. I loved being there altogether.

Now I have to TAG 6 people! Diane, Janae, Joi, Anie, Maren, and Sarah. YOU'RE IT! (If you've done it already, you can ignore this...)

My friend had a car like yours. We were riding in it up a hill when the gas pedal just fell off-- we had some adventures with that car. I need to get a copy of your swim pictures.. my family doesn't really believe me that I do swim!

I learned lots of things new about you! I didn't know about the dancing. Maybe one day when we tackle swimming you can show us how to dance, that would be a fun work out!

Oh my...I remember baby sitting those frogs once and we had to go to Jay's Jungle for crickets. Sean and I joked about Jay for days and we always say, "remember that guy that worked in that pet store?" when we drive by. WEIRDO!

Is that Nissan the one that you just left on the side of the road, and then one day when you were driving to church you saw it in that junk yard?

Ha! I already knew all of that! I am the world's greatest sister. I remember push-starting the Nissan, that was lots of fun.

my parents had(have still) a Subaru that all my siblings and I drove to high school. It was horrible! I have tons of stories, but it got us around town and my mom swears it could climb a tree.

I did learn ONE new thing about you!! So where do you go swimming at? That's so cool. It sounds like a lot of fun. I've always wanted to take up swimming but I really am AWEFUL! I don't think I would do it unless I had a friend to do it with. ok and I've never heard of this "tag" thing before. I'm suppossed to write things about myself? What if I can't think of anything-I'm so BORING!
