Yosemite

This past week we headed up to Yosemite to camp with Claire and Devin. We had a wonderful time! Yosemite is such a beautiful place. We ate lots of yummy food, and it was nice to be away from everything (t.v., phone, internet, life!). Now...I've created some long posts before...but this one really takes the cake! I hope you make it through!! :)

Lucas had fun riding the buses all over the park. Anywhere that he doesn't have to sit in a carseat is exciting for him!

Yosemite Falls was beautiful!!!

Lucas had a great time hiking and climbing over the rocks to get closer to the falls. We were impressed with his hiking abilities!

Lucas experienced many exciting things on our trip:
...wet willies from Daddy and Uncle Devin...
...some high-flying...
...his first deer encounter (it's in the shadows of the trees)...
...and a river as cold as ice. We spent a lot of time by the water. Lucas would say, "I'm turning into a popsicle!"
He also got to pet a gray fox!
Since Lucas was such a great hiker at Yosemite Falls, we decided to go on another hike! I chose one to Vernal Falls that was labeled "moderate." It was only 1 1/2 miles round-trip, so I thought it would be alright for a 2-year-old. Well...it wasn't. :) It was straight uphill!

Here's Lucas catching a ride:
Here's Lucas trying to convince us to go back down the trail. About halfway up, he said, "Where's the bus?"
BUT, we made it!
And Lucas got to do one of his favorite things: throw pinecones into the water.
The weather was quite warm, so it was great once we finally reached the water! When we sat and ate our snack, we got quite cold! Here's Lucas' cold face:
At the end of our trip, the Tringali's came up to hang out! It was so fun to see them! The kids were so happy to be together.
We went to visit the Indian Museum with the Tringali's.
We also floated down the river, which was quite the adventure!

This is a I've-been-camping-for-a-week-and-sitting-in-the-car-for-8-hours close-up! Can you tell which ones are owies and which are food??

Yosemite was an awesome place to spend our last family trip before Clint has to be a doctor!!! We're grateful for all of the fun things we've been able to do this month!

Here are some of my favorite "nature" pics from our trip:

Looks like you guys had an awesome trip! I am glad that Lucas hung in there with you guys! He is such a trooper. Hopefully next year we will all be able to make it to Yosemite. I loved your pictures at the end...as well as the one of you and Lucas in the raft. That one is classic!

Your little family is precious and congrats on the sweet baby girl! I love having two! Andrew will be one next month and they are such good buddies!

We're going to be in Spokane the week of July 20th. Do you have anyone living there anymore to go home to visit?
