A friend called 911 and 5 police cars and a fire engine showed up within minutes. They wrapped his head in some guaze. (I had been using his shirt). Clint was close by, so he was able to come over. Lucas seemed okay (minus the gash) and we turned down the ambulance ride to the hospital. Anytime anyone would say the word hospital, Lucas would scream, "I don't want to go to the hostibal!!" He also screamed for his daddy a lot!
Lucas calmed down a little on the way to the ER, but when we checked in, he screamed quite a bit. Maybe that got us a little faster service! :) We were still there for about 4 hours. Since it was nighttime, Lucas and Kaitlin each slept for about 2 hours while we were there. Lucas didn't have to get any stiches. The doctor used dermabond and steristrips to close the wound. Clint says we now have our own little Harry Potter!

I was worried all night about him! I'm so glad he's ok!!
I was worried too! We kept our phones on just in case you needed us!! I'm glad he's okay!
Yeah Lucas, we're so glad you're okay and that battle wound is pretty cool!
My kids think it is awesome that he gets to have a bandaid on his head. Glad he is okay.
I am so glad he is ok! I have been wondering about this question too. Kenzie has been twice and Blake not once! Now that seems weird!
Oh man. How scary! Glad everything is okay.
Ouch. Glad you all made it through.
wow. I think I would have lost it.. Its amazing the things that kids do. We have not had anything like that (knock on wood) I think I would yell at all the kids around too while I was panicking.. Way to be calm..
Way to be brave Lucas!
I'm so glad he is ok!!! How scary!! I remember my 2nd year teaching and a boy slid into the corner of a brick wall during PE class. I was across the gym and saw the blood gushing...I was screaming, "Put your hand up there!!!" We riped his shirt off and applied pressure...then we called his mom and the paramedics...She opted to drive him as well...I hate head wounds...they bleed so much! I'm so glad you kept your cool...Great job Natalie!!!
Ouch! Poor Lucas. When Tyler broke his arm an older woman in the waiting room said "Just you wait. This is just the first broken bone." Two years later Tyler broke his leg. Hmmmm.
Glad Lucas is okay!
Pretty sure we are going to be making ER trips with our crazy Jack Jack boy. I am glad that he is ok!
Gross!!! I am glad you were able to keep your cool. I think I would have been throwing up.
