Family Reunion Activities!

We had such a fun week in Colorado! Are you ready for the post of all posts??? There are millions of pictures here! (You should be able to click on each one for a larger view).

One of my favorite things we did was play baseball! It was so fun!!!! After Lucas played the first time, that was all he wanted to do. I felt like we played baseball all day, and when I put Lucas to bed our first night, he said, "Do you know what I want to do tomorrow? Play baseball 'cause we didn't play very much today." This was his first real experience playing, and he did great! On Henry's first hit, Lucas grabbed the ball and ran towards first. On the way, he accidentally took Henry out because Henry was heading to second from home plate. It was so funny. They were running around like chickens! And Lucas kept yelling out, "Okay, everyone! Level 5!" Guess we better teach him the rules since he loves playing so much! We also played a little volleyball. It was great having a big enough group to play sports!Uncle Mark pulled the kids around behind the 4-wheeler. Kaitlin was unsure at first, but then she fell in love and would not get out of the wagon! She kept saying, "Nen!" (Again). Mark and Kay's cabin has a river running behind it. The kids liked throwing in rocks and pinecones. One day we watched Ian, Erin, and Wyatt float down the river. Wyatt tried to splash us, and on his first attempt, his paddle broke right off!! We all laughed so hard! But no one laughed as hard as Kate! She didn't understand about his paddle...she just thought seeing him floating in a boat was the silliest thing she'd ever seen! Kay and Claire planned really exciting activities for us to do each day! One night we got to find treasure in the sawdust pile. The little kids went first and found lots of toys and coins. The whole thing freaked Kaitlin out! Clint helped her out but she still slipped and fell in! (See video clip). Lucas dug right in!Then, to my great joy, it was the big kids' turn! Only we were searching for Susan B. Anthony dollar coins! We took turns, the girls and then the boys. The boys were crazy! I was sad I didn't get any great video clips of the guys. Clint had showered already, so I was on my own, but I came out with $16! The little kids got to scavenge after we were done, and Lucas got $10! I had the best time, even though Kate screamed anytime I got near the sawdust!

Another day the kids were able to do a scavenger hunt planned by Grandma Claire. Each little kid was paired with a grown-up partner. There was lots of running and laughing, and the kids loved their prizes at the end!

One of the days, all of the grown-up boys went on a rhino ride up the mountains. It was an all day adventure! They saw snow! And they came back with lots of great pics. While the boys were away, the ladies and the kids went to explore Durango. We visited the train museum and shopped on Main Street. Lucas spent his $10 from the sawdust pile on CANDY!Grandma and the boys waiting at the train station. We also had lunch on Main Street, where Kaitlin solidified her love for Ranch. Pre-Ranch:During and Post-Ranch:
The boys got to sit at their own table. I had my back to them. It was great! I could mostly pretend they weren't even there! :) Except for the few times when they got a little rowdy with their knives/light sabers or when their singing of the Star Wars' and Indiana Jones' theme songs got a little too loud! They had the best time!
We also stopped at the fish hatchery. The workers were driving along throwing food to the fish, and the fish went crazy! It was really neat to watch.Ah! Did you make it to the end???? Oh, did I say the end? There's still a wrap-up post to come.... :)

I uploaded the pictures as large files, but when I click on them, they don't enlarge. Can anyone help me??? Is it a setting that I need to change?

Thanks! I wish I could say all the pics are mine...but they are not! There were lots of good cameras there taking pics and I got a disc with all them. The ones of Clint and Kate laughing by the river are mine.
