Camping @ Mt. Charleston

We went camping a couple weekends ago (pre-foot injury) at Mt. Charleston with Wyatt and Megan.  We stayed at the Kyle Canyon campground.  When we got there, we were wearing shorts and t-shirts.  A couple hours later, it started raining, with thunder and lightning, and then it turned into hail!  Luckily it didn't last very long, and then we had blue skies again!  Weird!  We played some baseball with the kids.  Clint taught Lucas how to do the "Babe Ruth."

Lucas and Kate also played with tools, bubbles, and a turtle!  We found the turtle by the bathroom, and he eventually made it over to our campsite!

We had hotdogs, s'mores, hot chocolate, and popcorn for dinner!  And then it got cold!!!!!!!!!!  We didn't even finish our card game!  But we were warm and cozy in our tent, and the kids slept all night without a peep.

Lucas and Kaitlin were running around, laughing and playing together, when she showed up like this!  Lucas told us she fell down.  A few minutes later, he said, "Actually, I threw dirt in her face."  I had to hide my face and laugh!!

In the morning, we had bacon and eggs, and then we went on a hike!  Lucas complained about how tired his legs were the whole time, but Kaitlin was a trooper!  She loved carrying my camera case on her back for her "backpack."

There were lots of interesting pinecones on our hike!  I collected some to put out for Christmas!

Fun trip!!!  Next time I'll bring winter coats!  Living in Las Vegas has made me wimpy!!
