*The last day or two, I've noticed that the paint on our bathroom windowsill is beginning to peel.
Me: Lucas, have you been peeling the paint in the bathroom?
Lucas: Yes!
Me: Well, you need to stop, please.
Lucas: I wanted to see how strong my teeth are. Can you believe they're that strong?!?
Me: Wow. That's pretty strong. But don't do that anymore.
Lucas: I do it everytime I go to the bathroom.
*I tried to help Kaitlin order her food at Red Robin, and she did not appreciate my help.
Kaitlin: Don't talk to me. I do it myself. I tell him.
*Me: Kaitlin, go to the bathroom, please.
Kaitlin: I don't have to! I went last week!
*Lucas gave a Kaitlin a rundown on all of her body parts. Here's a slightly abbreviated version:
Lucas: How many eyes do you have?
Kaitlin: Four.
Lucas: No. You have two eyes. Say two eyes.
Kaitlin: Two eyes.
Lucas: Two eyes, one mouth, one nose, two holes to pick your nose, one neck, two arms, two boobies, one tummy, one bum, two bum cheeks, and one bum crack. Got it?
Kaitlin: Yes. Two bum cheeks!
*Kaitlin threw a major tantrum in Wal-Mart the other day. I had to drag her "boneless" and screaming back to the cart, where we were checking out. (A rare occurance. She's generally really good). One of the employees came over and started giving her a very long lecture- "Do you want presents from Santa? We have cameras in here that show Santa what you're doing. You need to be good! Don't you want presents? I do! And you can't hurt your Mommy! She's having a baby!" And so forth, on and on! Kaitlin stood perfectly still, staring at her, until I finally said, "I don't think she really knows about Santa." Finally, the employee went away. Kate was quiet for a minute, then she shouted after her, "I DON'T HAVE TO!" I guess she got the gist of the lecture. :)
My mom came to visit us a few weeks ago, and we did all of our favorite things! Chuck E. Cheese, bowling, feeding the fish at Lake Mead, and visiting the Big Horn Sheep in Boulder City. The kids loved having Grandma play kitchen, Legos, doctor, etc. And we did a project, too!! We made Kaitlin a princess dress (see below) and two gorgeous skirts (pics to follow later). She never wants to wear shorts anymore. It's either a skirt, a dress, or bust! Thanks for coming, Mom!!
The kids had a lot of fun bowling. Kate lasted through most of the game, then she just laid on the floor and was a stinker. Lucas loved bowling.
Last day of school - Lucas and Mrs. Redford. She is a great teacher!
Kaitlin got herself a bowl of cereal! She had a lot of milk in her bowl, but she hardly made a mess! She even put the milk away!
Father's Day! We got Clint super-exciting gifts - socks and earphones. Lucas wanted to get him "a phone like Uncle Wyatt's" because he loves to play Angry Birds. Sadly, I shot that idea down. We love you, Clint. You're a great dad.
Lucas made such a sweet card. On the left is a picture of him riding the Indiana Jones ride with Clint. And I love that he'll write things all by himself now!
The speakers quit working on my computer, so Lucas was using earphones, while Kaitlin held the desktop speakers to her ears because they were so quiet. It made me laugh! She sat that way for quite awhile!
Kaitlin can ride her bike while reading People and watching tv! What a pro!
