Katie Pie's 3rd Birthday!

Our big girl turned 3 on September 24th!  We loved watching her joy, excitement, and surprise.  This is such a wonderful age.  We started her celebration with a birthday party with her friends during preschool.  It was so much fun!!!

Each of her friends started opening up their own gifts that they brought for Kaitlin.  I had a great laugh!  They were all so excited!  My favorite part was when Kaitlin opened up Princess Memory (from Payton), and Ryu let out the loudest, high-pitched squeal of excitement!  They could all hardly contain themselves.

And Lucas got her a Minnie Mouse Thermos.  She was so excited because everyday she tries to drink out of his Thermos and she's not allowed!

We spent the morning riding her new scooter at the park and eating donuts, and then taking a trip to Chuck E. Cheese!

Clint received a lot of M&Ms for his birthday, so whenever anyone asked what she wanted for her birthday, that's what she said!  So she got a few packages.  By the time she opened mine, the excitement of M&Ms had worn off.

Things about Kaitlin at age 3:
*She will only wear dresses.  And only certain ones!  Her favorite one is from Wal-Mart.  It is blue, faded, and with poop stains on it from an unfortunate diarrhea event at the park.  She would like to wear it everyday.  Now that it's getting a bit cooler, she is refusing to wear pants.  She says, "They are yucky."  I bought her a few pairs of tights, which she will wear out and about, but rips them off as soon as she arrives home.
*She loves the color blue--dresses, popsicles, suckers, headbands, hair clips.
*She is a really great sleeper.  Most days she doesn't nap, so she passes out around 7 or 8 and sleeps for twelve hours!
*She is a TALKER!  She is constantly making up stories, reviewing our events from the day, and asking questions.
*She loves her two brothers.  She likes to pick fights with Lucas, but she really loves him.  She loves to follow him around when he is with his friends.  When he's sad, she says, "It's going to be okay.  Let me hug you."  When Lincoln cries, she runs straight to him to console him.
*She is my little buddy!  She follows me around all day and goes where I go!  We had the best time together the other day, shopping for headbands and dresses.  She helps me cook and clean!
*Her favorite movies/shows are Lilo and Stich, Strawberry Shortcake, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, The Letter Factory.
*She loves to ride her bike and scooter.
*She is still a great eater.  The things she eats most of are pepperoni, cheese, apples, carrots, and pretzels.  If I let her, she would drink pop and eat candy all day.  Whenever Clint and I are eating something, she always wants to sit on our laps and eat our food, which means she eats a good variety of new foods.
*When asked by strangers what her name is, she always says, "Katie Pie."  They usually laugh and say, "Oh, Cutie Pie!  That's so cute!"
*She is just a big girl!  I buy her 4T and 5T clothes and just got size 11 shoes.  She is in the 90th percentiles for both height and weight.
*Her best friends are Payton, Ellie, Ryu, and Chloe.
*She is a princess that knows how to use a sword and a light saber.
*Only braids are allowed in her hair.  No ponytails!!!  She still has the most beautiful curls.
*Her favorite music:  Michael Jackson (especially I Just Can't Stop Loving You), Alvin and the Chipmunks

Kaitlin makes us smile and laugh everyday.  We love, love, love our sweet girl.
