Poor Lucas. Between recovering from the 24-hour flu (he had the flu shot!) and the time change, he could not stay awake! He told me that he wasn't tired but his eyes kept closing on him.
One of my favorite parts of the soccer season: the Victory Tunnel! After each game, the players would run through the tunnel while we cheered.
Lucas' first sports trophy! He was really excited about it.
Lucas with some kids from his team, the Mini Rebels.
Lucas has been doing a program at school called J.A.W.S. (Jogging And Walking Specialists). He explained to us that during recess he would run laps and then receive a punch on his red J.A.W.S. card for each lap. Every 20 laps or so, he would receive a prize. He just finished his red card, and he came home with a certificate for having run 15 MILES! Wowee!!! We thought that was pretty amazing! Good job, Lucas! Now he is on his blue J.A.W.S. card. He wants to play J.A.W.S. at home with me almost everyday. The game consists of him making cards of every color, and then he wants me to run a lap around the entire house, and then he'll punch my card. I don't generally agree to play; instead I offer to punch the cards while he runs. :-)
Just a cute girl, pushing her babies on the "swings!"
On top of being an awesome runner, Lucas was also the November Navigator of the Month!!! We are so proud of him. He is such an excellent student.
Taking care of 3 kids is a lot of work! I'm always grateful for the times when I am surprised by moments like these:
Then I have a great laugh and remember that I love being a mom! Lucas and Kaitlin are so sweet. (At one point, they were both totally naked with taped faces).
Kaitlin is definitely 3. With the time change and no naps, she can be a real stinker sometimes! She has to do everything by herself. Some of her favorite things to say now are, "You're not my friend!" "That's not fair!" and "I don't care!" She was throwing a thrashing tantrum on the LoveSac, but her crazy hair turned the tantrum into a funny picture-taking session!
Again, I'm so glad for these moments! The other morning, she woke up and told me in a sad voice, "I have a throat in my shoulder." Also recently she brought me a Pop-Tart box because she wanted one for breakfast, and she kept insisting, "This is not candy. This is FOOD."
I took the kids to get their pictures taken at Penney's, and the photographer was quite animated!! Kaitlin kept trying to be just like her throughout the day.
Wrestling with Daddy!
