The kids and I flew to Spokane before Christmas to visit family. The kids were so great on the plane!! They did go to the bathroom 4 times because they thought it was so fun to walk down the aisle, and I let them go by themselves! After the flight on the way there, the couple behind us stood up and said, "Wow! We had no idea there were three kids right in front of us!" I thought that was a nice compliment.
Our first day there, we spent the day with my friend Danielle and her kids. I loved catching up with her, and the kids played really well together, especially Lucas and Treyson! Thank you, Danielle, for having us.
The rest of our time was spent partying with family!
The kids with my cousin, Michelle.
Aunt Nadia
Lincoln and Great Grandpa Art, deep in conversation.
One of the evenings, we had our family Christmas party, and Santa came with presents!! It was definitely one of the highlights for the kids. Kaitlin and Lucas are both wearing new Christmas clothes. Katie Pie was soooo excited about her beautiful dress.
As Santa was leaving, Lucas tried to follow him out to see the reindeer, but Santa told him they were too shy. After Santa left, Lucas wanted to sing Jingle Bells again to see if he would come right back.
Lincoln received his first presents!!
He thought this bear from Grandma Teri was super tasty.
Lucas and Kaitlin were in present heaven!
Great Grandpa Art, Great Grandma Joan, Aunt Gail, and Lincoln
Making sugar cookies.
Grandma Teri and Lincoln
Lincoln liked laying beneath Great Grandma Joan's Christmas tree.
Don, Gail, and Michelle
Kaitlin is making the best faces in these next 2 pictures. I think that she was going a little kooky from all of the pictures!
Me, Nadia, Michelle, and Gianna (Missing Leslie!)
My cute little boys.
Grandpa and Grandma
Gail brought really neat snowflakes for us to cut out. I made an elephant one and a Christmas tree one.
Decorating sugar cookies. Lucas determined that he was the boss, and he kept paying people and laying them off. I don't know where he learned that!
I took the kids to Riverfront Park to ride the carousel. It was cold!!
Lincoln's first carousel ride! I had to buckle him up by looping the belt around him about 6 times. He is turning into Mr. Grabby Hands!! Ooo, he is so cute.
After our ride, we had a snack while the kids literally had their faces smashed up against the window watching a couple of police officers test a suspicious stain to see if it was blood. Fun!
Garbage goat. Kaitlin wasn't interested in trying it out.
Red wagon slide.
Grandpa David got us a couple of gingerbread houses to decorate. They were awesome--already glued together and ready to decorate! Lucas gave his gingerbread lady M&M boobies.
You can see my senior picture here. Lucas saw it and said, "Look, Mom! It's the day you got baptized!"
My mom made this blouse and dress for me when I was 3! Kaitlin wore the dress on Christmas day.
There was very little snow, but my mom still took Lucas and Kaitlin sledding almost everyday. They also went iceblocking. We need to get Lucas on a snowboard pronto! He was able to slide down the hill on a sled while standing. One of the days, there was so little snow that my mom pulled Kaitlin down the hill on mostly grass. And back up! Kaitlin still tried to get out of wearing pants and leggings even though it was so cold. In the car, she would ask for a blanket.
We also played games, ate at yummy restaurants, and played the Wii. Thanks to everyone for a really nice trip! We loved seeing everyone.
*The first couple of days, the kids cried for Clint, especially Lucas. When we finally flew home, we were walking through the airport looking for Daddy, and Kaitlin started getting really teary. When we finally found him, she hugged him and sobbed!
