Escondido

The week we moved, the kids and I went to stay with my dad, Diane, and Leo at their time share in Escondido.  It was really fun!  The resort had all kinds of things to do, and the weather was perfect.  Kaitlin was fighting an ear infection, so we didn't get a lot of sleep, but she acted okay during the day.  One day I took her to the urgent care while Diane took Leo and Lucas to the San Diego Zoo.

Hanging outside, enjoying the perfect temp.  Lincoln loves to be outside!!
There was a fishing pond.
I hooked Lucas with the hook within the first 5 minutes of getting our pole.  Luckily, it didn't get stuck, but he did bleed!  I'm sure you can imagine how that went over.  He did recover and have a great time though.
Leo caught a lot of fish.  They were blue gill.  One time he left the fish on the hook and kept casting him out far into the lake and dragging him back in.  Poor fish.  But I laughed really hard seeing it fly through the air!
I'm not sure what's happening here!  She's so silly.
A real fisherman!
Leo is so great at playing with all of the kids.
My dad learned this napkin trick on his mission in Italy.  The boys had to try to perfect it, of course.
One night we went down to have S'mores and watch Hawaiian dancers.  It was almost chilly!  (Why do I keep mentioning the weather??  Because I just came from Vegas' sizzling hot summer)!  I had a Kit Kat on my S'more.  It was tasty.
Watch out!
TROUBLE!  :-)  In the evenings, we played Apples to Apples.
We went to play at the beach at Oceanside on our last day.  The kids love the beach!
There are tiny little crabs everywhere at Oceanside.  The deeper you dig, the bigger they are!
He was quite tolerant of the sand.  He kept getting excited, shaking his hands, and flinging sand all over.
After the beach, they came to see our house.  Diane helped me hang some pictures, and my Dad fixed our slider door.  Having them come over made it feel more like home.  We had such a fun time with them!
