Thanksgiving

We started our Thanksgiving break with a hike at the Valley of Fire with Diane, Leo, Gianna, and Thomas. It was beautiful! We went on the Petroglyph Canyon/Mouse's Tank trail. Lucas and Leo had a great time climbing all over the rocks, and Kaitlin tried as hard as she could to follow.

There were lots of petroglyphs...

...and lots of red sand!! Next time I will bring buckets and shovels.

This was the only group picture I took on Thanksgiving day! My Dad and Grandma also came to stay, and Wyatt and Megan came over for dessert. We had fun cooking, playing Speed Scrabble, and visiting together. I made the mistake of showing Lucas the turkey before it was cooked, so he cried all day saying that he didn't want to eat any turkey. I finally convinced him to try it, and he liked it. Now he tells everyone, "I ate dead turkey."
Kaitlin wrestling Gianna. Check out that belly!

We took Aunt Gianna to the Bass Pro Shop to check out the free Christmas activities. We shot guns, drove remote control monster trucks, and rode on boats and ATVs. Lucas also got to visit Santa and make a couple of requests! He was not afraid at all! Kaitlin did not like Santa but she was tolerant as long as I held her!
After everyone left, Gianna and I became gingerbread maniacs!!! We created a pattern for a gingerbread house, cut it out, and baked our gingerbread. But guess who the real maniac was??? Lucas! I thought he would tire of decorating within 5 minutes, but he is still asking to make another house! And that is after making two houses and decorating countless cookies. I guess we've found what he was born to do! :)
(In case you're wondering...we finally bought new clippers today, and Lucas will soon be getting a haircut. We sure think he's handsome even with long Anakin hair)! :D
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks to our family members for coming to visit and helping with the cooking and cleaning! We had a fun time being with you!

Lucas is so funny! I'm glad he still ate the turkey! I was worried that Carson would make the connection to the turkey we were cooking to the turkey at the petting zoo the other day, but he didn't!

That is so fun that you had Thanksgiving at your new house!

I'm impressed with your gingerbread skills! Those things can get expensive in the store, but I don't think I have enough skills to make my own!
