For playgroup last week, we went to McKee Ranch. It's a "ranch" (in the middle of a neighborhood next to I-15) that has horses, goats, rabbits, and a donkey. This is how my kids felt about the animals:

A bit panicky!! They were not interested in feeding carrots to the horses
at all. Kaitlin had a kung fu grip on me anytime we were near an animal. One horse did try to eat my bag!

Lucas did feed the goats. This goat tried to butt Lucas and Max! A few minutes after this picture, an unpenned goat snuck up behind Lucas and Kate, and then there was lots of screaming and shrieking, so we got out of there!

The ranch did have lots of fun things to do besides look at animals. The merry-go-round was a huge hit with all of the kids.

It was a really cute place! Afterwards, we went to the Mountains' Edge park. It is a huge park--worth seeing if you're on that side of town.
In other news...
We've been playing outside a lot in the nice weather. Kate loves bubbles! Lucas likes to pretend the bubbles are "bad guys" and he kills them with his light saber.

We made a talent chart for our family. My favorite part: Lucas came up with a talent for Clint--he's a good smiler! I thought that was so sweet. He wanted a picture of Clint to look at so he could draw a picture of Clint's smile just right. So he drew Clint's smile, but just his smile, no face. I thought that was kind of funny. He also said Clint is really good at getting kids in trouble. Ha! :) Other talents: Lucas-good light saber fighter, fast runner, Me-good cook, good carrier (of children) (Lucas came up with those)! Kaitlin-good dancer, great at taking her brother his drinks.

Kaitlin found some lipstick. She had a nice time making herself and the carpet look pretty.

So pretty in her church clothes!

Lucas quotes:
-Lucas was sick, so I was offering things we could try to help him feel better. He said, "Mom, you're just a mom. Dad's a doctor." :)
-Lucas to Clint: Hey, hairyman.
Clint: I'm not that hairy.
Lucas: Yes you are. Look at yourself.

Natalie ~ What fun adventures you take your family on! I have a list of things to do from your blog... however, I need to start doing them!
Also, I have a favor to ask of you... Jared's cousin will be attending Touro here soon and I was wondering if you can send me an email with suggestions of living for them? They have a sweet infant baby girl. So they would need a two bedroom place somewhere. Thanks for your help. Steph

Lucas, how thoughtful you are to recognize your family talents! We bet your mom is a great cook, but we would have given her the "great smile" award for sure! (She has a beautiful, warm smile)
p.s. Kaitlin you are cute as ever in your church dress and curls!
i love the lucas quotes! those were so funny!! :)
Hey Hairyman! I'm still laughing uncontrollably about that one. Every time I think about it I start up again.
So funny! So, I forgot that your blog went private and since you weren't popping up on the top of my list anymore I'm just now seeing all of these posts! Ooops, love them all!
