A Walk Down Memory Lane

I went to Spokane this past week for a funeral. My Uncle Tom (my mom's older brother) passed away. Lucas and Kaitlin stayed at home with Clint, Claire, and Devin. Wyatt and Megan also came over a lot to help and visit. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I was so happy to be able to be with my family. (And thanks to the Woolfs, too)!

I left Wednesday afternoon. The services were Thursday morning. My mom did a great job on the eulogy. In between the services and the cemetary, we went to visit Tom's house. My grandparents built the house, and we spent a lot of time there growing up. I think the house will be sold, so it was our last time visiting there. So, here's my walk down memory lane!

My grandparents always tell me that when I was 2, I was too afraid to walk on this deck. I was afraid I would fall through the cracks! We also loved peeling the paper-like bark off of these trees. The backyard where we always played. It looks so different now! It's funny because everything should look smaller since I'm bigger now, but the plants are so much bigger that I still felt small!
My sisters, my cousins, and I spent hours crouching on this path picking my Grandma's beautiful flowers to make homemade perfume. We were strictly forbidden to NOT pick the flowers, so we always told our Grandma that we found the flowers on the ground. I'm sure she had no idea we were lying to her. :) We also rode one tricycle back and forth a million times and fought about whose turn it was.
This used to be a garden, and we would pick raspberries off of these bushes. Here is my cousin Connor, cousin Michelle, and sisters, Nadia and Gianna. We would have our Easter egg hunts in this field, and "the babies" always got a headstart. Shelly and Gianna were "the babies." We called them that forever. After the graveyard services, we went to Marie Callender's. This is my Uncle Gary and his son, Connor. (My picture-taking was very spotty. I didn't take pictures of anyone else).Playing Apples to Apples: my Mom, Connor, Michelle, Nadia, Gianna, Grandma, GaryI took a few pictures of pictures while I was home:

Nadia, Gianna, and I (Maybe 7, 3, and 1)
My Grandpa Art and Grandma Joan holding Tom-aren't they gorgeous??Gianna has continued to knit, and she made these cute slippers for Kate! I have only tried once so far, but Kate refused to wear them! I'll get them on her soon!! Soooo, remember, I went without kids!!! I was supposed to return home Saturday night. I was so excited to hold my babies! BUT my flight was an hour behind, so I missed my connecting flight and had to stay the night in Salt Lake. Lucas and I both cried. I somehow managed to enjoy another night alone :) after my moment of sadness.
Thanks to everyone for helping out while I was gone. I am so grateful for my family and friends!

Washington is so green and beautiful, compared to Vegas!!! Glad you're home safe!

Those slippers are ADORABLE! I can't believe how talented Gianna is at knitting.

I wish I could have come visit you on your night alone in Salt Lake. That would have been so fun! BUT we are driving through Vegas Friday or Saturday and want to see you then if you'll be around!
