We Love Our Visitors! - Part 1

My grandparents came to visit, and we stayed busy, busy, busy!!  The kids were so excited to see them that they forgot to ask for presents!!!  (Last time they started asking as soon as we left the airport).  The first day we went to Chuck E. Cheese to play games and have "pizza and pop."  (Kate's favorite).

The next day we went to check out Bonnie Springs Ranch, which is a little past Red Rock.  We have never been before, and I thought it was wonderful!!!

We saw two wild burros on the drive.
Our first stop was the petting zoo.  There were deer, goats, chickens, horses, a burro, and a pig wandering around that we could touch.  Kaitlin was brave enough to touch the burro, and Lucas kept saying, "Can we get out of here?"  A deer crept up on them at the end and really freaked them out!  He also tried to take out a big bite of my bag!  The zoo also had a wolf, 2 lynx, llamas, a coati mundi, a porcupine, chinchillas, and a few other animals.  I was so impressed!!
There were tons of ducks and turtles.
Then we headed into the Old Town to see a melodrama and a hanging.  They were both put on by 2 cowboys.  One of the cowboys dressed up as a woman for the melodrama, and Lucas laughed so hard throughout the whole thing.  I loved watching him.

Lucas wanted to sit up front for the "hanging" show.  It began with a shoot out between the Marshall and a bank robber...and we were right in the line of fire!  We were even splashed by water from the "bullet."  Kaitlin started crying, and Lucas tried to hide behind me because he really thought we were going to be shot!!  So we quickly changed seats.
After that adventurous morning, we were starving, so we ate at the restaurant there.
Lucas liked his chicken strips almost as much as Red Robin's!!  Such a handsome boy.
Kaitlin kept tasting my lemon.
These were the women's bathroom stalls in the restaurant.  The men's urinal was a bathtub!  The whole ranch was so cute.  I was impressed with all of the details and little decorations.
The ranch also had a buffalo, a huge bull, horses, and peacocks everywhere.  They even had white peacocks.  They were beautiful and almost unreal looking.
The mountains were so beautiful.
We had such a fun time that we didn't even take Lucas back for school!  I thought we had run out of locations to take our visitors, but I was wrong!  Soooo, if you're coming to visit us (and it's not 100 million degrees), we'll take you to visit the ranch!  Stay tuned for part 2!
