Our handsome boy started 1st grade this week! He was a little nervous! We went to meet his teacher at the Meet'n'Greet, and she was very nice. He really liked his desk and all of the books and supplies. He has one preschool friend and one girl from kindergarten in his class.
We drove him to school the first morning. I picked his shirt the first day. I think he has worn character shirts every day since! (Mario, Ninjago, IronMan).
This picture describes our last couple of weeks. Lucas and Kaitlin have been fighting like crazy. Their whole purpose in life is to bug the other person. When one of them does try to be sweet, the other one tries to pick a fight. I thought I would be so sad sending him off for the whole day, but they have made it so that I am not!
But she adores him! I love her face in this picture! She wants to do and say everything that he does and says. Today she asked where he was and said she missed him. Her choice of quiet time movie without him has been Spy Kids. Weird, right?? She will sit and watch almost the whole thing!
Lucas and Lincoln (4 weeks)
Our cute, cute kids. I sure love them. I miss Lucas during the day. I can't believe he spends that much time away from me each day! I'm in shock a little bit.

After school, we wait at the bus stop for 30 minutes before the school called to say Lucas was still at the school. (School had been out for an hour). There was mass confusion. They told me he had been too afraid to get on the bus and they told another mom her kids were on the bus. So Clint and I made it to the school at 4:45 (1 1/2 after school got out) to pick Lucas up, and the bus was just getting there!!! Nobody was on the bus and Lucas had not been afraid. When I got him, he was smiling, but as soon as we got in the car he started sobbing, saying he didn't ever want to go back to 1st grade. It took him a good 30 minutes to recover. Poor guy. His day seemed to go well besides the terrible end! Since then, he has successfully ridden the bus home. Yay! This week he has enjoyed specials, recess, eating lunch at school, and reading Junie B. Jones. He has had a PB and honey sandwich everyday. He brought home a Blue Ribbon one day this week for being so great. We are so proud of him. And they have started playing chase - boys vs. girls - already!! I called playing chase a "game" and he said, "Mom! It's not a game! It's real life!" Apparently, chase is very serious. Kaitlin and Link have been great little buddies for me. Kate loves to help me clean and shop. We were able to go to the museum together this week and she started dance class! So, it was a good week for all of us!

Natalie your kids are soo darling. Reading about Lucas and Kate reminds me so much of Ashden and Mayce. Little Link is so cute, enjoy him while he is little they grow way to fast. Cache is 9 months and almost walking. Where does the time go? Anyways hope things are well.
Lucas, you are growing up so quickly! So happy you are liking school! I remember playing "chase", but I think I was in 3rd grade at the time. How funny! Hope you have a great year!
Wow! 1st grade!! That is so exciting!
They're growing way too fast. Little Link already looks so much bigger than when we saw him.
