Disneyland and a Getaway

This past weekend we went down to CA to go to Disneyland! We thought Friday wouldn't be too busy because people still had work and school, but we were wrong! Luckily we got there early and got on quite a few things before too many people showed up. Lucas tried Star Tours for the 1st time and loved it! When he came off the ride with Clint, he ran up to me saying, "Mom! Mom! I want to take you on a ride! It was so awesome! And it's FREE! C'mon, I'll show you. It's free!!" While Clint and Lucas were on Star Tours, Kate and I rode Buzz. I ranked #3 for the day (it was only 9 in the morning) with 450,000 points. Not bad for my first time in a year and a half while holding a baby!!The middle of the day was a bit catastrophic. We went to the Jedi show twice so that Lucas could participate in Jedi training, but he was not chosen either time. And then we went to ride Indiana Jones and he was too short!!! After some lunch, we all recovered and were able to have a great rest of the day.

...the Pooh ride-Kate thought this whole experience was quite strange...We also went on The Haunted Mansion. Throughout the ride, Lucas kept saying, "This was a bad idea. I don't like this." As soon as we were back out into the sun, he said, "I loved that ride! Let's do it again!" Silly kid! We were able to convince Lucas to go on the rollercoaster ride Big Thunder because it's one of Cousin Nana's favorite rides. Beginning of the ride:How he felt about the ride:I was hoping that he would love it so that we could go on Space Mtn! But he said one rollercoaster was enough for the day. I think Kate's favorite parts of the day were finding steps that she could climb without holding a railing and feeding the ducks.

After our long day at the park, we dropped the kids off with Grandpa and Grandma, and Clint and I took off for 2 nights! It was wonderful! We went to the movies, went out to eat, and went shopping. Thanks sooooo much, Jim and Claire (and Devin!). We loved the break!
Lucas and Kate were able to do lots of playing with cousins and survived just fine without us. Claire said that Lucas said we couldn't go on a date again because dates were too long!

The kids with their Valentine's. Kate loved her chocolate! For my Valentine's gift, I picked out a $12 ring to replace my wedding ring! (The diamond fell out; I found it, but it's chipped, so the one jeweler we've taken it to so far wouldn't work with it). And I got a great weekend out with Clint!

I'm sad the weekend is over!!! I was so looking forward to it, and it's over already! But we had a wonderful time. Thanks, everyone!
