Lucas is 6!

Our Lucas is 6!  I just can't believe how big and grown-up he is.

We started his birthday celebration at Kids' Club; his last one until next summer, now that he's a full-time student!
Right after this picture, he looked at Aden and said, "Isn't this so stupid?"  Guess Kids' Club has run its course for him.

Since Lucas has been really into the 3 Ninja movies, he wanted a Ninja party.  We made his invitations with these pictures.  He enjoyed having a Ninja "photo shoot."

The 3 Ninjas-Max, Lucas, Aden  We gave the guests headbands and balloon swords.
We kept the party small--only about 16-18 kids.  :-)  Luckily, I had some moms to help me, and Devin watched over Lincoln.
We got Lucas the Lego Police Station, and his friends got him lots of awesome gifts!

Here are some things about Lucas at age 6:

*Lucas is a great sleeper and an early riser.  He passes out about 7:30 and is up around 6:00.

*He goes through phases where he just likes to do one certain thing.  His most common "phases" are Legos, Wii (Mario Kart or Party), and board games (Apples to Apples, Go Fish, Garbage, Skip-Bo, UNO).  Now that we're getting past the hot weather, he'll get back into bike and scooter riding too!

*Favorite movies/t.v. shows:  3 Ninjas, Star Wars, Chipmunks, Mario, Wild Kratts, WipeOut, Family Game Night

*Favorite books: Little Critter, Lego, Junie B. Jones, Kevin Henkes books (Lily's Purple Plastic Purse, Julius Baby of the World)

*Favorite music: Michael Jackson, Alvin and the Chipmunks  He still loves to sing and dance.

*Also enjoys: soccer, baseball, getting donuts with Dad

*He's a kind of a picky eater, so he eats a lot of peant butter and honey sandwiches and turkey and cheese sandwiches.  He also loves mac and cheese and chicken and rice.  He will eat carrots, grapes, corn, pea pods, and green beans.  His favorite restaurants are Red Robin, Little Caesers, McDonalds, and Jason's Deli.

*He loves his sister and brother.  He fights a lot with Kaitlin, but is quick to stick up for her if she is hurt or if someone is being mean to her.  They've invented a game called, "You're Driving Me Crazy."  She stands behind him and wraps her arms around him, then he drags her around saying, "You're driving me crazy!" and then he slams her into the Love Sac.  He likes to cuddle up with Lincoln and is constantly making up things that Lincoln is "saying."  I love watching his amazed face when he sees Kaitlin or Lincoln do something new.

*We were always a little nervous about him going to school because he is wild, but he has done so well!!  He loves school and has never had a single problem.  I'm sure he's quite social, but he is good at following the rules in a school setting.  This year he received two blue ribbons in the first couple weeks!  He is a very good student, and we are so proud of him.

Happy Birthday, Lucas!  We love you so, so much!
